A powerful storm system will continue to track through the South into Tuesday evening, one day after a deadly tornado outbreak struck the region.
Additional severe thunderstorms are anticipated into Tuesday evening but the risk will be well east of areas that were slammed on Monday.

Thunderstorms capable of blinding downpours, hail and damaging wind gusts will extend from northern Florida to southeastern Georgia and part of southeastern South Carolina.
"Within this area, there is the risk of a few isolated tornadoes, but far fewer tornadoes are likely compared to that which occurred on Monday," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Heather Zehr said.
More than two dozen reports of tornadoes occurred Monday across Louisiana and Mississippi. Some of those storms proved to be deadly as they tracked through populated areas.
Showers and thunderstorms resulted in a wet morning commute for Charlotte, North Carolina; Athens and Macon, Georgia and even Panama City, Florida.
Frequent lightning is also possible within some of these storms, especially across Florida. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors.
The line of heavy, gusty thunderstorms will continue to track to the Atlantic coast during Tuesday evening and bring an end to the rain for the Carolinas and Georgia. As the evening progresses, the line of thunderstorms will continue to track south and eastward through central Florida.
Fort Myers, Naples, Satellite Beach and even West Palm Beach can be hit by thunderstorms Tuesday night. Most storms will remain below severe criteria, but gusty winds and torrential downpours will continue to be a concern.
Aside from a few leftover showers or a rumble of thunder across South Florida Wednesday morning, conditions will dry out across the Southeast.
In the wake of the wet weather, noticeably colder air will filter into the region by Wednesday morning. Many places with the exception of the Florida coasts will wake up to temperatures in the 30s and 40s.
For those that may have to clean up in the wake of damaging thunderstorms, plenty of sunshine is expected across the South Wednesday and Thursday.
