US 95 near Nevada-California state line closed following mudslide, train derailment
A mudslide and a freight train derailment led to the closure of U.S. 95 near the Nevada-California state line on Friday.
Flooding caused a mudslide at U.S. Hwy 95, 10 miles south of the Nevada border, forcing its closure.

The mudslide was cleaned up and set to reopen at 3 p.m. on Friday; However, a train derailment occurred, spilling 15 cars and delaying the recovery process. The derailment happened 14 miles south of the Nevada border.
No one was hurt or killed in the incidents.
According to Caltrans, cleanup crews are having a tough time getting to the derailment because of weather. Drivers should avoid the area.
The Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
