As the excitement builds for the 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville, Tennessee, from Thursday to Saturday, the weather may have other plans for the first round.

This year's draft has been advertised to be an outdoor extravaganza with multiple concert venues to help keep crowds entertained.

Severe weather and widespread flash flooding are not anticipated for the events at Nashville.

NFL Draft

However, during the first night of the draft, a storm system may threaten to bring episodes of drenching rain, including the potential for a thunderstorm or two.

Brief gusty winds and a few lightning strikes cannot be ruled out over the course of the evening and overnight hours on Thursday.

Fans heading to Round 1 should dress for wet weather, including a plastic rain poncho and waterproof shoes.

Officials are encouraged to have alternative plans for the events, including for the safety of fans and participants.

Much more favorable weather is in store for outdoor conditions for the remaining rounds on Friday and Saturday in Nashville.

Fans heading to Friday evening's drafts should expect temperatures to fall through the 60s and into the 50s with no need for rain gear.

After a cloudy and damp start to the day on Friday, sunshine is forecast to return and help dry the region and the lower Broadway area out.

US Late Week

On Saturday, sunshine will yield to increasing cloudiness during the afternoon, but a comfortably warm spring day is forecast with afternoon temperatures expected to climb well into the 70s. Despite some high-level cloud cover later in the day, sunglasses may be a necessity.

There is the chance of a shower or thunderstorm drifting in from the west during Saturday evening. However, any downpour may just as easily pass by to the north.
