Hurricane Pictures From Space
There is so much hurricane activity going on in the Pacific, we just have to take a look from Space. Satellite pictures are one of the best tools that meteorologists have to look at the weather. Here is a look at some impressive satellite pictures of the parade of powerful Pacific hurricanes. Today is also the the 10 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Scroll down to the bottom for a satellite loop of that monster of a storm.
What you see above is floater imagery from the National Hurricane Center. Jimena and Ignacio were category 4 hurricanes while Kilo wast just under Category 4 strength with 125 mph winds! I am not sure if there have ever been 3 category 4 hurricanes in the central and eastern Pacific at one time. But, this could be a record.
Take a look at some other images of the hurricanes today, including some from the astronauts on the International Space Station. If you like these pictures be sure to follow them on Twitter!
