Final Snowfall Map, 200 Records Affected
UPDATE: NASA has released this satellite image showing the snow cover from high above the earth on March 3rd. The AccuWeather.com Visible Satellite from March 4th also showed most of the snow still intact, due to extreme cold after the snowfall.
UPDATE: According to NCDC Records, 278 snowfall records were broken or tied between February 28th and March 2nd. If you don't count the first day (because some records were from the Rockies or Alaska), the number is 194. In any case, it's safe to say that over 200 records were affected (most of those broken), with over 30 of those being monthly record snowfalls for March, and 8 being all-time record snowfalls for the station.
Reuters says that over half a million lost power from the storm; 200,000 were still without power as of Monday evening.
ORIGINAL POST: Below is our final snowfall map. I know, it's not perfect, but I think it gets the idea across without having a dot on every mountain.
