10 best winter vacations for kids in the U.S.
There are plenty of great places to visit in the U.S. during the winter. If you and your squad are planning trips this winter here is some advice on some cheap vacations. Plus, some of the best vacation spots for you and your family to enjoy. Remember that if you keep your eye on the local weather forecast, you will have the best time!
1- Southern California
If you are looking to escape a cold winter, then Southern California is the place to be. SoCal is one of the more family-friendly vacations, with Disneyland, California Adventures, Knott's Berry Farm, Sea World, as well as fun beachside activities.

2- San Francisco, California
San Francisco has delicious seafood and about the same temperature year-round. You can visit Chinatown, drive across the amazing Golden Gate bridge, and hang out on Ocean Beach.

3- New York City
The Statue of Liberty, amazing pizza, Times Square; these are just a few of thousands of places you can visit when you go to New York. The diversity in the Big Apple is an eye-opening experience.

4- Sun Valley, Idaho
Sun Valley is a ski resort town in the heart of Idaho that makes for one of the best vacation spots regardless of if you are trying to slide down the slopes on skis or a snowboard. Sun Valley is a magical winter wonderland and home to the first chair lift in the world. With plenty of places to shop, great artisanal beer options and breathtaking views keep Sun Valley in mind when looking to escape your hometown this winter.

5- Orlando, Florida
Orlando was made for escaping the cold with the family. With Disney World and the multitude of parks that they offer, as well as Sea World, and Universal with Harry Potter's World, you'd be hard pressed to find time to do it all.

6- Salt Lake City, Utah
Salt Lake City is a great place to visit during the winter because of its easy ski resort access close to the Salt Lake International Airport. You also can access the beautiful national parks of southern Utah like Zion and Bryce Canyon that have fewer international tourists during the winter months.
7- Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Jackson Hole is a great little town to visit at any time of the year. In the winter, you can enjoy world-class skiing at the Jackson Hole resort, but remember to dress warm because those winter temps in Jackson will freeze you solid.

8- Grand Canyon National Park
If you have never visited the Grand Canyon, winter is the time to go. With mid-60-degree weather in the daytime and down to about freezing at night, you will have the opportunity to gaze down 3,000-foot vertical drops that will take your breath away. Taking a road trip in the southwest is a fabulous idea that would make for one of the best family vacations.
9- Seattle, Washington
Seattle is a beautiful Pacific Ocean port where you can see stunning views from the space needle and eat some great seafood in the Pike's Place Market. You can never go wrong by spending a few nights in the Emerald City.

10- Big Sky, Montana
Experience one of the wildest places in the west; Montana. With huge snow drifts and great skiing, Big Sky is a place that you are going to want to check out.
