Blizzard conditions cause major pileup on I-90 in Buffalo, New York
Blizzard conditions in New York have caused a multi-vehicle crash in the Buffalo area, the Buffalo News reported.
At least 75 vehicles are believed to be backed up on Interstate 90, with at least one person killed and another seriously injured, according to police.
Mark Poloncarz, county executive for Erie County, New York, clarified via Twitter that about 22 vehicles were directly involved in the crash, with many other vehicles unable to move.
Multiple ambulances are en route to the crash to assist those trapped in vehicles, News 4 Buffalo reported.

The accident resulted in both lanes of I-90 being shut down for a time near the towns of Depew and Pembroke.
Video from the scene shows dozens of semi-trucks and other vehicles at a standstill on the New York State Thruway.
The New York State Thruway Authority is alerting all eastbound travelers to exit I-90 at exit 50.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo issued a Blizzard Warning for Metro Buffalo through 1 a.m. EST Wednesday, with visibility near zero and wind gusts of 45 mph.
Buffalo Niagara International Airport has been reporting heavy snow since 11 a.m. EST Tuesday with visibility limited to just a few hundred feet.
The airport has diverted at least three flights due to deteriorating weather conditions.
