Severe Today in Same Areas

Saturday's severe weather outbreak will cover some of the same areas hit by yesterday's storms, which is unusual. Below is a comparison of the government's "Moderate Risk" areas (inside the red circle) for yesterday and today. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center says:

Overall, however, the area of expected severe (tornadic) weather is smaller and today's outbreak is not expected to be as impressive as Friday's.
