Get Ready for Super Tornado Outbreak II
The SPC [JessePedia] has issued a Moderate Risk this morning for Day Three, meaning that extreme storms and tornadoes are likely from the Arklatex through the southern Midwest. I have never seen this before (not saying it's never happened, but I've never seen it). The SPC is very conservative on their forecasts until the morning of the event, and often is hard-pressed to issue a Moderate Risk on day two. This virtually guarantees that a rare High Risk will be issued either tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.
This confirms what Joe Bastardi said yesterday about this being a historical tornado outbreak that may well go down as the "Super Outbreak of 2008" and may challenge the 1974 outbreak. Later this morning I'll post some model imagery of the various Severe Weather Indices [JessePedia] from the Forecast Models [JessePedia]
