First Storms From Outbreak Break Out
5:30 PM Central and I just witnessed the first two storms from this evening's severe weather outbreak form out of nothing just east of Wichita and within 20 minutes they had 1.5" diameter hail and mesocyclones, according to NEXRAD radar. Severe thunderstorm warnings have gone out and a Tornado Watch is up for the area. You can see the latest NEXRAD radar animation on AccuWeather.com (PREMIUM | PRO).
