High winds snapped trees and caused power outages as Hurricane Humberto pounds Bermuda, on Sept. 18.
Former Hurricane Humberto will bring wet and windy weather to the United Kingdom into Wednesday.
Humberto, now a tropical rainstorm, will slowly track southeastward across the country, resulting in further downpours and gusty winds.
The initial impacts from Humberto were felt on Monday as a swath of rain moved into Northern Ireland, Wales and southwestern England.
Rain overspread the remainder of the country by Monday evening and continued overnight into Tuesday, with the heaviest rainfall occurring in southwestern England and Wales.
Flooding was reported with widespread rainfall of 25-50 mm (1-2 inches).
Flooding was reported in Dorchester and Hampshire that created travel disruptions for the morning commute.
Gusty winds that have accompanied the rainfall will diminish across central and northern parts of the United Kingdom on Tuesday. In southern Wales and southern England, these winds will continue and could bring about local power outages into Wednesday.
A few gusts will reach to near 50 mph (80 km/h), though most areas will see peak wind gusts on the order of 40 mph (65 km/h).
A final round of rain will occur from southern Wales into southern England on Tuesday night and Wednesday with a few showers expected elsewhere.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 50 mm (2 inches) will be possible through Wednesday with most areas receiving less than 13 mm (0.50 of an inch).
Humberto will be the first of several storms to affect the U.K. with the second set to arrive on Wednesday night with impacts lasting into Friday.
The heaviest rainfall is expected from Northern Ireland into northern England and Scotland where 25-50 mm (1-2 inches) is possible in some locations, causing localized flooding.
The strongest winds, with gusts of 30-40 mph (50-65 km/h), are possible across Northern Ireland, England and Wales.
A third storm will blast through southern parts of the country Saturday night into Sunday bringing a period of heavy rainfall to parts of Wales and England.
Strong winds will accompany the rainfall across far southern England.
Additional unsettled weather is expected to continue across the country next week as several more storms arrive from the northern Atlantic Ocean.
