REPORTS: Severe storms leave thousands without power in eastern Texas

This same storm produced hundreds of hail and wind reports on Tuesday as well as a few tornadoes across the Plains and Ohio Valley. Heavy rain led to flash flooding in some communities across the Plains.

Severe thunderstorms will shift eastward and threaten areas from Houston to St. Louis on Wednesday.

Five people were injured in Grayson County, Texas, amid the storms. Two possible tornadoes touched down in the area, emergency management said.

Checotah, Oklahoma, suffered extensive damage throughout the town. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
