Flooding rain, storms to drench Italy to Balkan Peninsula after inundating Spain
Those in the East US aren't the only once experiencing flash flooding. On July 8, in Pueyo, Spain, heavy rainfall caused flooding, which led to sections of roads being washed away.
A storm system tracking across southern Europe will spark downpours and severe thunderstorms into Wednesday night.
Thunderstorms were focused across northern Spain on Monday, where flash flooding turned deadly. The communities of Tafalla, Olite and Pueyo are among the worst affected.
A person was found dead after being pulled from their car by floodwaters in Navarre, according to the Olive Press. Other video and photos from social media showed raging flood waters carrying cars down roadways and buildings being inundated by flooding.
Storms battered northern and central Italy on Tuesday where damaging winds and hail were reported.

The violent storms caused trees to topple on cars and block roadways around Venice and Verona, according to Sky TG 24.
On Wednesday, the threat for severe thunderstorms will shift south and east with areas from central Italy into the southern Balkan Peninsula at risk.
"I'm particularly concerned for heavy rainfall along the east coast of Italy which can result in flash flooding and mudslides," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys.
Storms across central Italy can also produce hail and locally damaging winds and lead to travel disruptions.

Dangerous thunderstorms are possible Wednesday afternoon and evening from southern Serbia and North Macedonia into northern Greece and Bulgaria.
These storms will bring the risk for flash flooding and damaging winds. A few storms can bring damaging hail.
Severe weather may reach Istanbul Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
On the northern edge of the storm system, downpours will be a concern from Bosnia and northern Serbia into southern Romania into Wednesday evening.
A period of tranquil weather will follow the storminess across the Balkan Peninsula on Thursday and Friday.
Thunderstorms may return in time to dampen weekend plans across the region.
