Germany: Summer warmth to be replaced by cool, wet weather as September begins
Warm air will build across Germany through Wednesday before rain and thunderstorms arrive.
Much cooler air will settle over Germany following the rainfall, making it feel like a sudden change from summer to autumn as September begins.
Before this cooler air arrives, temperatures will soar across Germany into Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the most intense warmth will spread throughout southern and eastern Germany.
Some locations could reach their highest temperatures of August as a few locations near the border with France report temperatures near 32 C (90 F).
The arrival of rain and thunderstorms will hold back temperatures somewhat in western areas, but it will still be a warm day despite the threat of rainfall.
"A few of the storms from Stuttgart to Frankfurt and Dortmund will be severe, with damaging winds and flash flooding during the afternoon and evening hours," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys.
These storms will weaken slowly and move eastward Wednesday night and Thursday. The arrival of these showers and thunderstorms will signal the end of the summer warmth.

Very cool air will settle over western Germany on Thursday as highs reach only 17-21 C (62-70F) along with thick clouds and occasional rain.
This cool shot will reach eastern Germany on Friday as highs across the entire country range between 13 and 19 C (56 and 66 F).
A soaking rain will make it feel even colder across central and eastern Germany. The rain could be heavy enough to cause flooding across Bavaria.
Even in areas where flooding does not occur slower travel is expected due to ponding on roadways.
Cool and unsettled weather will continue across Germany through the weekend.
