Dallas: March-like temperatures hold across the metroplex this weekend
Temperatures this weekend in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex will be more like those in late March than the last weekend of January.
"The average high in Dallas is in the upper 50s in late January, but highs will be well into the 70s into Monday," AccuWeather Meteorologist Mike Doll said.
"South to southwest winds will persist with high pressure anchored over the Southeast U.S. and this will help pump warm air into northern Texas," Doll said.
The warmup will be short-lived as a new weather pattern sends temperatures dropping and brings the chance of rain to start the new week.
"It will be rather windy and warm Monday ahead of a developing storm in the High Plains," Doll said. "This system will bring a cold front through Dallas Monday night with the threat for a thunderstorm."
Temperatures on Tuesday will be 15 degrees lower behind this cold front.
