AccuWeather 2019 UK spring forecast
While much of the southern United Kingdom will bask in dry and mild weather this spring, northern regions are set to endure rainy spells throughout the season.
High pressure systems that set up over western Europe into the Bay of Biscay will force the storm track for the season just north of Scotland and into Scandinavia, according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys.
This means the northern half of the U.K. will have frequent rainy spells.

Western Scotland, including Glasgow, will end up receiving above-normal precipitation for the season as a whole.
Meanwhile, Wales, the Midlands and southern England will be on the southern fringes of the rain, meaning cities like Cardiff, Birmingham and London will fail to receive normal rainfall.
“As a result, these regions will probably end up being on the mild side for spring,” Roys said.
While this may be good news for warm weather lovers, it could be bad news for area farmers.
Below-normal rainfall means drought conditions could be quick to return.
“Even though fall and winter have brought normal to slightly above-normal precipitation, it has not made up for the rainfall deficit during the summer," Roys said.
Below-normal rainfall into the growing season could affect the U.K.’s vital crops, including spring barley and wheat.
This would be the second consecutive year of setbacks for farmers due to weather at the start of growing season.
In the winter of 2017/2018, lingering cold and snow delayed the planting of various crops including lettuce, asparagus and potatoes.
