Ebel brings extensive management experience to deliver quantifiable business impact to enterprise clients worldwide, partnering with more than 240 of Fortune 500 companies and government agencies.

AccuWeather Global Weather Center – October 3, 2016 – AccuWeather, the most accurate source of weather forecasts and warnings in the world, has announced the appointment of Mark Ebel as Vice President of Business Services, AccuWeather Enterprise Solutions, Inc.

In his management role at AccuWeather, Ebel directs all aspects of AccuWeather’s commercial division and is a member of the company’s executive team, overseeing AccuWeather’s continued enterprise expansion across all industries and government agencies including retail, transportation, entertainment, manufacturing, financial, emergency management, and additional sectors. Ebel’s main areas of focus include the oversight of AccuWeather’s B2B strategic plan and product innovation roadmaps to deliver the most customized, actionable business and safety impacts to clients worldwide.

AccuWeather Enterprise Solutions, the world’s leading commercial weather source partnering with more than 240 of Fortune 500 companies and thousands of businesses and government agencies worldwide, provides the most accurate, actionable weather data, forecasts, and intelligence that saves lives, protects property, drives revenue, minimizes risk, increases productivity, and more for clients worldwide. AccuWeather Enterprise Solutions has focused on the business impacts of weather for over 50 years, serving clients in all 50 states in the U.S. and worldwide including all of North America, Europe, Africa, Australia, South America, and Asia. Clients across all industries rely on AccuWeather Enterprise Solutions for the most accurate weather information and insights to drive quantifiable business results. Government and emergency management agencies also rely on AccuWeather for the best forecasts of severe weather events – floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, cyclones, and others – available from any source. By forecasting and communicating the weather the most accurately and effectively worldwide, focusing on impacts - telling people how, why, and what they need to do in order to save lives and minimize losses - AccuWeather has saved tens of thousands of lives and tens of billions of dollars in property damage.

AccuWeather SkyGuard Localized Severe Weather Warnings provide warnings with Superior Accuracy™ that protect people and property, saving lives and injuries in dangerous situations. Customized, precise site-specific notifications include snow, flood, hail, high winds, hurricanes, tornadoes, and much more. AccuWeather warnings are shown to be seven times more accurate and provide double the warning lead time than even the official government National Weather Service warnings. AccuWeather’s accurate, pinpointed warnings for tornadoes, for example, in the U.S. alone, also translate into substantial savings for companies due to AccuWeather’s low false alarm rate of 11% versus the federal government’s National Weather Service false alarm rate of 88%. AccuWeather’s most actionable and accurate warnings - including “Null Warnings” that let businesses and emergency managers know when National Weather Service warnings will not impact a specific location, and precisely pinpointing where they will impact – translate into life-saving actions and substantial savings for business and industry.

AccuWeather D3 Analytics takes the most complete global real-time and historical weather database - including AccuWeather’s unique real-time data sets from around the world with exclusive observations, satellite, and radar – correlated with customized data sets by client using proprietary statistical analytics and predictive modeling. AccuWeather uses its Superior Accuracy to make predictions for logistics, sales planning, and inventory control going forward, providing the most actionable, customized data driven decisions for businesses.

"As the most accurate source of weather forecasts and warnings in the world, AccuWeather is the clear leader in keeping people safe and out of harm's way," said Dr. Joel N. Myers, Founder, President, and Chairman of AccuWeather. “Through Mark’s leadership and contributions with our executive team, we will continue to meet the significant enterprise demand for weather with Superior Accuracy exclusively from AccuWeather."

“AccuWeather Enterprise Solutions is the leader in Superior Accuracy, translating the most accurate historical weather data and forecasts to deliver quantifiable and more profitable results,” said Ebel. “I look forward to working with clients worldwide to provide the most comprehensive, customized big data analytics that inform business decisions and create distinct competitive advantages.”

Ebel has a demonstrated track record of driving strategic business growth with recognized brands including Google/Channel Intelligence, Toys R Us, Best Buy, and Intel. He is a proven leader in developing long-and-short range strategic plans, spearheading category-leading innovation, and establishing new partnerships to generate brand, revenue, and profit growth across sales channels.

As Senior Vice President at Google-owned Channel Intelligence, Ebel led business development initiatives including retail strategy and market intelligence planning for 500+ e-commerce retailers and manufacturers, new product innovation, P&L management, advertising, promotions, and data analytics with quantified business impact. Previously with Toys R Us and Best Buy, Ebel directed online marketing to oversee all components of the digital experience, including site development, marketing, user insights, affiliate partnership programs, and back-end fulfillment.

Ebel holds an MBA in Marketing, Finance, and International Business from J.L. Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
