AccuWeather Names Four Key Appointments to Executive Team, Supporting Record-Level Global Expansion

AccuWeather Global Weather Center – August 28, 2015 – AccuWeather, Inc., the global leader in weather information and digital media, has announced key promotions to its executive team, adding four leadership appointments: Vincent McDonald has been named Chief International Strategy Officer; John Dokes has been named General Manager of the AccuWeather Network; Steven Smith has been named President of Digital Media; and Chris Patti has been named Chief Technology Officer.

As Chief International Strategy Officer, Vincent McDonald will oversee AccuWeather’s global expansion, building and expanding enterprise-wide partnerships in addition to guiding the company’s international resources and presence to better serve its worldwide audience. In the past year, AccuWeather has opened several new international offices, added unique global forecasting capabilities, and increased its number of forecasting languages to further localize and personalize weather communications. AccuWeather also signed a historic Joint Venture with the Chinese government's commercial weather arm to expand weather information and forecasting operations throughout China. McDonald will also continue in his leadership responsibilities as AccuWeather’s Chief Human Resources Officer.
John Dokes will play a vital role in guiding the development and expansion of the AccuWeather Network as its General Manager, continuing to strengthen the only “All Weather, All the Time” national HD weather network through innovative programming and proprietary forecast offerings to serve its growing audience. Dokes will also continue in his role as AccuWeather’s Chief Marketing Officer to oversee all strategic branding and marketing for the company.
In his new position, Steven Smith, President of Digital Media, will guide all components of digital media worldwide for AccuWeather, including industry-leading digital advancements and innovation, revenue generation, advertising, and partnerships.
