AccuWeather Introduces Children's Programming
The Perfect Answer for the New 2007 Digital Tier Children's Programming FCC Requirement
(State College, PA - January 1, 2007) - AccuWeather, Inc. announced today the launch of a set of FCC-approved Children's Programming for cable and digital operators. The programming includes two shows, each with 26 episodes from the highly regarded Long Needle Entertainment group.
Show number one is called "Animal Atlas" and features stories about animals from around the world. Segments include "Legends of the Manatee," an in-depth look at this gentle yet endangered mammal of the sea, "First & Primate," an exploration into the complex world of the primates most closely related to mankind, and "Six Legs, No Backbone," a close-up look at the extraordinary world of insects.
Show number two is called "Safari Tracks" and features stories about animals unique to the African Continent. Segments include "The Need for Speed," tracking the land speed records of Africa's fastest animals, "Lion King," in search of the king of all beasts, and "Paradise Found: The Okavango," a trip down one of Africa's most spectacular habitats - the winding waterways of the Okavango Delta.
Each episode is set up for a 30-minute block including 6 minutes to insert advertising. Both shows are geared at a 13 to 16-year-old audience, which provides a significant advantage over programming for a younger audience with regard to FCC advertising limitations. Fees for the programming are based on market size and number of episodes aired each week.
