I'd like to personally thank everyone who submitted comments, photos and snow amounts with this week's eastern snow storm. The reports were helpful for Accuweather.com meteorologists and interesting to the readers. Here's a map of the approximate snowfall area courtesy NOAA:

- Jeff from the Poconos reported 5 inches of snow with thunder and lightning.

- Drew from Hattiesburg, MS got 4 inches and Chrisy from Hattiesburg, MS said her kids were playing in the half an inch of snow that they got.

- Rosemary from Broadlands, VA sent a photo of the snow early but noted that she eventually measured 5 inches.

- Lou from Warrenton, VA sent in a very impressive picture of 11 inches of heavy snow there and said a friend in Linden, VA reported 10 inches.

- Laurie talked about the icy roads in Houston. Jim said the media was going nuts about it since it was so rare.

- Mike from Lafayette saw the snow, as did Phillip from Pineville.

- Bill from Cookeville, TN sent a beautiful photo of their first snow of the season:

- Lisa from the shoreline of Connecticut reported flurries.

- Sherrye from Asheville was disappointed because she didn't get much snow and it melted quickly. My mom who lives in the foothills of North Carolina, and my uncle & aunt who live in the mountains of South Carolina also reported only rain.

- Sean from Houston thought the snow was, in his words, "Awesome - hope it comes back around Dec. 24th" and Monica sent in a pic of the snow coming down there.

- Brenda from Pearland, Texas sent in a photo of the snow there.

- Melanie noted that it was snowing in Victoria, Texas on the coastline.
