New Video Player, New Search Function
You may (or may not) have noticed a couple of new features on the ad-supported version of AccuWeather.com this week. First, we have a new video player (excuse me, "media player'). It's a much-improved version of our old player, sporting widescreen, high resolution videos and even warnings (see below).
(I can't promise that Melissa will be wearing a red shirt if you have a severe thunderstorm warning, that was just happenstance last week when I took the screen capture).
There are five main categories: Weather, Expert Analysis, Lifestyle and Fun. Each category contains dozens of excellent videos, many produced for the Local AccuWeather Channel (our digital cable weather channel, now in over 30 markets, 100+ in 2008!) If you look in Expert Analysis, you'll find me doing Friday Featured Fotos.
And second but not least, a new search function on every page of AccuWeather.com that allows you to search the entirety of AccuWeather.com for what you need, whether it's your favorite city forecast, or a product like radar or lightning maps.
