Deep South Winter, 5-Day Loop
Although the radar shows scattered snow and ice across the Deep South, few reports from official stations have confirmed this (as of 9 AM). As you can see from the 5-Day Radar Loop, the Plains and Texas have been plagued with shot after shot of winter precipitation and now the system is expanding into the Deep South.
RADAR AT 8 AM ***(VIEW A 5-DAY RADAR LOOP)***
Don't expect any significant accumulation east of western Louisiana, though. It's just a taste of winter for our southern friends. Here are the pertinent NWS observations that I've seen overnight and this morning:
- Shreveport, LA: Freezing Rain, Freezing Drizzle and Sleet
- Huntsville, AL: Unknown Precip [JessePedia]
- Natchitoches, LA: Unknown Precip (And snow yesterday)
Unknown Precip has also been reported at these stations in Louisiana overnight:
ACP (Oakdale)
BAD (Shreveport)
BQP (Bastrop)
DTN (Shreveport)
ESF (Alexandria)
RSN (Rustin)
