Snow to spread from Ohio to Pennsylvania, West Virginia
Snow will spread from the Great Lakes to the Appalachians to close out this week.
“Winter weather is not quite over with just yet,” said AccuWeather Meteorologist Brett Rathbun.
Rain mixed with and changed to snow in part of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan during Wednesday night.
This transition will progress from northwest to southeast into the Appalachians into Friday.

A major storm in the Northeast states will help funnel in cold air and bring the change to snow in some locations.
Snow, accompanied by chilly winds will spread southeastward and impact cities including Cleveland, Toronto, Pittsburgh and Charleston, West Virginia.
The combination of wet, clinging snow and gusty winds will cause sporadic power outages. Even in the absence of snow, power outages can occur due to gusty winds.
Despite the chill and rounds of snow showers, recent high temperatures in the 50s are expected to prevent snow from accumulating on warm road surfaces in most cases.
“Should any heavier burst of snow occur, roads could quickly become slushy,” Rathbun said.
Slippery conditions can develop over the higher elevations from the Adirondacks of northern New York state to the Appalachians of West Virginia and Virginia.
A few inches of snow can accumulate on grassy areas and other non-paved, elevated surfaces. Motorists in the region may need to sweep snow off their car before heading out.

Those headed to Major League Baseball games in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and New York City should be prepared for blustery and cool conditions on Friday afternoon and night.
Waterproof coats, hats and mittens will protect those at the ballgame from the brisk weather and possibly wet seats.
For those anxiously awaiting the return of springtime weather, warmer weather will return by next week.
“While it will be quite chilly to end the week, a big warmup will arrive later this weekend and into next week,” said Rathbun.
Sunny weather and winds out of the south on Saturday will help temperatures rise back into the 50s for much of the Northeast, with highs flirting with the 70-degree mark by the end of the weekend.
