Rain postpones NASCAR race in Michigan to late Monday
As a wet Sunday unfolded in southeastern Michigan, NASCAR officials postponed the FireKeepers Casino 400 race until later Monday.
Rain that moved through during the first part of Sunday afternoon delayed the start of the FireKeepers Casino 400. The race was scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EDT.
NASCAR officials had hoped to drop the green flag at 3:02 p.m., but rain returned when drivers were running pace laps and delayed the start again at 3:08 p.m.

As rain continued to stream into southeastern Michigan, NASCAR officials postponed the FireKeepers Casino 400 race until Monday at 5 p.m.
Monday afternoon and evening will feature much better weather for racing.
Some rain to start the day will give way to a dry afternoon with sunshine returning.
Gusty, northwesterly winds will also usher in cooler air. Monday's high is expected to be held to the middle and upper 60s, which is about 10 degrees below normal for this time of year.

Despite the cooler conditions, anyone spending a significant amount of time outdoors without sunscreen can easily get burnt by the strong, June sun.
