Weekly outlook into early July

A cooler regime is likely to take hold across western Canada over the next few weeks, while most of the heat will be confined to the southern two-thirds of the United States.
There are no immediate signs of sustained heat for southeastern Canada, the Great Lakes and northeastern U.S. as we go to the end of the month.
As usual, long-range precipitation departure outlooks as we head into the summer generally have lower skill than the winter due to the more convective nature of the precipitation, which leads to more localized rainfall.
