Great Lakes almost Ice Free and the Long Range
The last remaining pockets of ice from a near-record breaking ice cover season on the Great Lakes will soon be gone along the south shores of Lake Superior in Upper Michigan.
As of yesterday, a total of 1.3 percent of the Great Lakes was covered with ice. All of that ice was on Lake Superior.
I can't say for sure when it will reach 0%, but the drop in percentage may slow a bit as mother nature tries to melt the remaining ice that is jammed up into the northern Michigan shoreline.

Severe weather threat Saturday
The threat for locally severe thunderstorms still remains Saturday afternoon and evening from southeastern Saskatchewan through southern Manitoba. The main threats will be damaging, straight-line winds and hail.
