Tornado Outbreak II, The Sequel
Yesterday was a nasty day for severe weather in the Plains and today will be as bad or worse over the Deep South.
Yesterday's severe weather resulted in 13 tornado reports and 91 hail reports to as large as 2.75 inches in diameter. The NWS [JessePedia] issued over 50 Tornado Warnings and over 100 Severe Thunderstorm Warnings (StormMatrix). Radar images and loops from the storm are available in my blog from last night.
AccuWeather has issued an EXTREME RISK of severe storms surrounding and including Alabama, with a Moderate risk reaching as far north as Chicago and as far east as Myrtle Beach, SC.
The SPC [JessePedia] has issued a HIGH RISK for severe thunderstorms over parts of Mississippi and Alabama, with a Moderate risk covering a large area from central Illinois down to the Gulf Coast and then eastward to the Atlantic.
This morning, storms are as far east as Georgia and supercell thunderstorms are again marching through Arkansas and Missouri.
Here at AccuWeather.com we're tuned in and turned on and will be monitoring what probably will be a historic tornado outbreak throughout the day and tonight. More information is available in our Weather Headlines (PREMIUM | PRO) and Breaking Weather News Page (PREMIUM | PRO).
