Photos: Winter, Spiders, Katrina
The following is a quick brief on what's been uploaded to our Photo Gallery by worldwide weather watchers in the past two weeks...
WINTER WEATHER PHOTO UPDATE: Photo Gallery user weatherlover1 uploaded some powerful photos of waves crashing on to the Lake Superior shore during the mid-November storm. Jeromemck kept us up-to-date with the snowfall in Minnesota while EDMOND reported in from New Hampshire with his winter photos.
Photo Gallery user Elaine has posted some wonderful animal photos this week (warning: creepy spiders ahead!), as well as an obligatory sunset or two. Check out her gallery.
I'm always fascinated by weather and scenery overseas and this photo gallery gives us all an excellent window into what other weather enthusiasts are seeing out their windows. Newcomer perAdrian gives us a taste of rural Romania this week, including fall color on the Danube river. Related Link: Europe map in case you forgot where Romania was.
We've uploaded some eye-popping government photos from NOAA showing their hurricane hunters' trip into the eye of Hurricane Katrina.
I have a question though. They claim the photos were taken of the eyewall one day before Katrina hit land.
EDMOND continues to be one of our top uploaders, with nearly 160 great photos to date. Weatherbum continues to take the cake though, with over 250 photos so far. His gallery was updated this week with some scary thunderstorm photos.
