Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.
A cold front over western Manitoba is pushing eastward late today and will sweep across the remainder of southern Manitoba this evening and tonight. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop along this cold front, some of which may be severe. The threat of severe storms should move out of southern Manitoba overnight.
Very large hail can damage property, break windows, dent vehicles and cause serious injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.
