What we know about the tropical system
Tropics:
1. The system 99L is developing and should become a depression by the time it reaches the islands.
2. Ocean temperatures are warm across the Bahamas, so intensification will continue.
3. Model tracks take the system into the Bahamas this weekend.
4. The system may go into the Gulf of Mexico or up the East Coast or even out to sea.
Storms:
Strong storms will develop in the Plains Tuesday into Tuesday night. The storms will produce locally damaging winds, heavy rains and frequent lightning.
