UK: Disruptive snow may close out Easter weekend on Monday
A disruptive snow event may unfold across a part of the United Kingdom on Easter Monday, threatening to affect holiday travelers.
Locations across Northern Ireland, Wales, northern England and Scotland can expect a period of snow before milder air changes precipitation to rain from south to north Monday into Monday night.
Where the heaviest snow sets up, this could be a substantial event. Higher terrain from the Pennines northward to the Grampian Mountains can be covered with more than 15 cm (6 inches) before the storm winds down.

"Travel delays are certainly possible with slick roads and reduced visibility," AccuWeather Meteorologist Evan Duffey said.
The most likely time for icy road conditions across England will be into Monday morning. In Scotland, travel will be the most slick on Monday.
Across the hills of Wales and northern England, any settling snow on Monday morning should come to an end as temperatures rise. Snow is expected to transition to rain by the afternoon.
Duffey adds "The storm track is expected to be far enough to the north that much of southern England and low elevations of central England will not have accumulating snow."
Outside of the hills of Wales and central England, while some snow may fall, most roads will remain wet as temperatures hold above freezing.
Snow may also settle across the interior of Northern Ireland into Monday morning; however temperatures are expected to remain above freezing limiting the threat for icy spots.
Whilst not as disruptive as the snow to the north, the rain can still put a damper on any festivities to end the holiday weekend from Plymouth and Cardiff to London and Ipswich.
Airline passengers may face delays and motorists will have to contend with wet roads and spray from other vehicles reducing visibility.
Temperatures will begin to rebound across the south of England , the Midlands and Wales on Monday before doing so across the remainder of the country by Tuesday.
This storm is expected to impact the United Kingdom into Wednesday; however the milder air will prevent any further snowfall outside of the highest elevations of the north on Wednesday.
