If you didn't stay up late on Friday night to see the Harvest Moon that won't reappear on Friday the 13th again for 30 years, AccuWeather compiled pictures from the event.
People from all around the world took to social media to share their pictures of the spectacle.
The Harvest Moon provides the most light during the time of year when it was traditionally needed most, which was during the harvest as the Old Farmer’s Almanac explains on its website.
"There was extensive cloudiness across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, extending southward into the Carolinas and much of Georgia, so viewing conditions were poor there," AccuWeather Meteorologist Randy Adkins said.
"Viewing conditions were fair across much of Texas and the lower Mississippi Valley, but they were the best from the central Plains and Rockies through California. Clouds marred optimal viewing conditions in the Pacific Northwest and northern Plains and Rockies," Adkins said.
While the fortune (or misfortune) that a full moon brings may be up for debate, research conducted in recent years has shown that it may still have an effect on people.
According to researchers with the University of Basel in Switzerland, people typically do not sleep as soundly during a full moon as they do during the rest of the month.
If you missed the full moon on Friday night, it will look similar to the naked eye on Saturday night.
