PHOTOS: Deadly winter storm blasts northeastern US
A winter storm wreaked havoc on travel across the Northeast over the weekend.
According to the Associated Press, an accident on Interstate 95 left two people dead and at least 15 injured on Saturday, Dec. 17.
A fuel tanker skidded off a Baltimore highway and exploded, sending sheets of fire in the path of the approaching traffic and causing a deadly 55-vehicle pileup on the ice-coated roadway.
The blazing pileup was one of many crashes in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., area as freezing rain slowly accumulated on roadways.
