Part 3: How to Navigate Between Models in the Model Animator
This video is the third in a series of tutorials showing some of the features of the Forecast Model Animator page on the AccuWeather.com Professional web site. In this video I discuss how to navigate among model data that is loaded into the page.
To start, I load four rows of data and show how to click on the numbers to temporarily disable the animation. This is handy if you want to move your pointer without changing the image that is displayed on the page. This lasts about a second; just long enough to move the pointer out of the field of numbers, then the animation goes back to normal.
Next, I show how the VCR-style controls on the left sidebar work. There are buttons to step forward and backward and to play forward, backward, and back-and-forth. There is also a drop-down menu to adjust the speed of the animation.
The last thing that I show in this video is the keyboard navigation. If you have a numeric keypad on your keyboard, you can use it as arrow keys to navigate through the model data. You may need to toggle the “Num Lock” key in order for this to work. The keyboard navigation allows you to move up, down, left, right, and even diagonally.
Another tutorial on the Animator page will be posted soon. In this next video, I will discuss the various settings on the page that can be adjusted.
