Indiana Winter Still on Hold
Normal snow and cold will stay away through at least the end of the week as Indiana winter remains elusive.
Following Thursday's abundant December sunshine and high temperatures ranging through the 40s, Indianapolis and much of the Hoosier State will have temperatures near to above the 50-degree mark on Friday.
An "average" mid-December day would warm no higher than 39 degrees.
The afternoon increase in cloudiness, beginning with the south and west, will hint at a soon-to-come turn in the weather. However, rain, not snow, amid temperatures in the 40s and 50s will be Saturday's outcome throughout Indiana, as low pressure cuts from the central Plains to the northern Great Lakes.
Sunday through at least Monday, only modest cooling will follow a cold front.
