Heat to build for Sunday's NASCAR race at Watkins Glen
After a shower dampened Saturday's race at Watkins Glen, New York, a hotter end to the weekend is shaping up for the Monster Energy series Go Bowling at the Glen race.
After a bit of rain on Friday, another shower crossed the racetrack during the NASCAR Xfinity series race on Saturday.
Slick tires were swapped for rain tires at Watkins Glen, since the track is a road course with lower speeds when compared to the oval tracks.
Lightning is the main risk that could cause officials to throw the red flag, but lightning has so far remained more than 10 miles north of the track.

It will turn even hotter for the NASCAR Monster Energy series Go Bowling at the Glen race on Sunday. The green flag is set to wave at 3 p.m. EDT.
Fans can anticipate a high temperature around the 90-degree Fahrenheit mark on Sunday afternoon, with AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures in the upper 90s F thanks to plenty of sunshine and high humidity.
People should make sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, as well as wear light-colored clothing, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen.

Watkins Glen International is one of three road course tracks on the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR circuit including Sonoma Raceway, California, and the recently modified track at Charlotte Motor Speedway, North Carolina.
The conversion at Charlotte was done to add a road course venue during the fall playoffs.
