Germany: Brief break from storms before wind, rain and snow return late week
A period of relatively tranquil weather is expected across Germany before wind, rain and cold air return later this week.
A brief shower cannot be ruled out across northern Germany on Wednesday; however, much of the day will be rain-free in these areas as well as the remainder of the country.
High temperatures of 4-8 C (40-46 F) will be recorded across northern Germany while chilly air remains entrenched over southern areas with highs of 1-4 C (34-40 F).

Milder air will finally return to southern Germany on Thursday just ahead of an approaching storm system.
High temperatures will climb above 4 C (40 F) in most ares with parts of Baden-Wurttemberg reaching a high of 8 C (46 F).
Rain and gusty winds will sweep across the country late Thursday into Friday removing the milder air.
A six-hour period of rain will move from northwest to southeast across the country and be accompanied by wind gusts of 50-66 km/h (31--40 mph). This could result in some minor travel disruptions.
Along with the return of colder air, snow will be possible from Friday into the weekend.

The best chance for accumulating snowfall on Friday will be over the higher terrain of central and southern Germany.
Snow showers will become more widespread across Germany on Saturday. The best chance for accumulation will be in the morning hours when temperatures are near or below freezing.
High temperatures both Saturday and Sunday will only reach 0 to 3 C (32 to 38 F) across most of the country.
Additional cold and unsettled weather is expected early next week.
