College football week 2: Storms may delay major games; Extreme heat to build for No. 15 Michigan State v. Arizona State
College football action is in full swing as week two of the season kicks off.
Several games were disrupted by severe storms last week leading to delays and even postponements.
This week, key matchups could be impacted by extreme heat or thunderstorms. Check out the forecasts for games to watch out for:

UCLA at No. 6 Oklahoma - 1 p.m. EDT
The Bruins from the Pac-10 will travel to Big 12 territory this week to take on the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman.
The power five clash will take place amid cooler-than-normal conditions for this time of year with a threat of thunderstorms.
Highs will fail to top the 80-degree Fahrenheit mark, so fans won't have to worry about intense heat. AccuWeather RealFeel® temperature will hover in the middle to upper 70s.
However, thunderstorms could erupt in the afternoon, potentially during the game. Storms could lead to a delay.
Once lightning is spotted in the immediate area, a delay is called. NCAA rules state that there is to be a minimum of a 30-minute suspension of play after the lightning strike. Therefore, there has to be at least a half-hour delay in play from the final lightning strike near the stadium.
Fans should come ready with rain gear.
William & Mary at No. 12 Virginia Tech - 2 p.m. EDT
After their Labor Day beatdown of Florida State, the Hokies will take on William & Mary for their first home game of the season.
It will be a humid and muggy day in Blacksburg with temperatures in the mid-70s at the start of the game. With combined humidity, the RealFeel® temperatures will be closer to 80 F.
Skies will be cloudy and could bring showers or even a thunderstorm to the area during the game. Fans should prepare for some wet weather and potentially a delay in play.
Rutgers at No. 4 Ohio State - 3:30 p.m. EDT
The Scarlet Knights will travel to Columbus this week to attempt a major upset against the No. 4 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes.
It will be a wet, humid and muggy day at Ohio Stadium. A few showers could lead to slippery field conditions, making turnovers more likely.
While rain will fall at times, there will be periods of dry weather throughout the game.
Temperatures will hover in the low 70s throughout the game.
Youngstown State at No. 14 West Virginia - 6 p.m. EDT
The Mountaineers will be back at Milan Puskar Stadium for the first time in 2018 and play the Pengiuns from Youngstown State.
After a hot week in Morgantown, West Virginia, conditions will cool off by Saturday. On-and-off showers could occur during the day making for wet tailgating at times.
By kickoff, a shower or two could still occur. Temperatures will be in the low 70s throughout most of the afternoon and around kickoff.
Southern Louisiana at No. 11 LSU - 7 p.m. EDT
The Tigers will take on Southern Louisiana at home on Saturday night after last week's prime-time win over Miami.
Fans taking the day to tailgate leading up to the game should prepare for hot and humid conditions. RealFeel® temperatures will rise into the mid-90s.
The building heat and humidity could lead to a pop-up shower or thunderstorm at times. While any storms will be short-lived, rain could make the field slightly slippery.
Any wet weather will clear out before kickoff.
No. 13 Penn State at Pittsburgh - 8 p.m. EDT
A heated rivalry will kick off on Saturday night between in-state foes Penn State and Pittsburgh.
Steady rain will likely be a factor in this prime-time clash at Heinz Field. A storm system could move into the Pittsburgh area in the late afternoon and continue through the overnight hours.
Showers could lead to slippery field conditions and increase the chance of turnovers throughout the game.
The heaviest rain is likely to hold off until after the game; however, enough rain could be in the area to cause ponding on the roadways. Fans should use caution traveling home after the game.
For those tailgating, temperatures will be in the high 60s for most of the afternoon before falling into the low 60s in the first quarter.
No. 15 Michigan State at Arizona State - 10:45 p.m. EDT
It will be a hot, dry day in Tempe, Arizona, as the Sun Devils prepare for a major out-of-conference game against the Michigan State Spartans.
Anyone tailgating throughout the day should prepare for temperatures in the upper 100s. By kickoff, the mercury will fall slightly back to the 100-degree mark.
Fans should stay hydrated and dress in light-weight clothing. The heat could lead to cramps and other injuries for players.
