Weather pattern clues to November

Latest signals suggest that the Arctic Oscillation (AO) will likely be strongly positive during the first week or two of November. This would favor keeping most of the Arctic air confined to northern Canada, while generally milder Pacific air dominates over southern Canada and the Lower 48 states. There are no signs of any significant drought relief for the interior western United States.
