...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of urban and poor drainage areas as well as quick responding small rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, including the following areas, Northern New Haven and Southern Fairfield and southeast New York, including the following areas, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), Northern Queens, Richmond (Staten Island), Southern Queens and Southern Westchester. * WHEN...From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of urban and poor drainage areas as well as quick responding small rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Scattered showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain are possible in the watch area this afternoon and evening. Rainfall rates of 2+ inches per hr are possible with any repetitive thunderstorm activity. A widespread 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches of rainfall is likely with localized rainfall totals of up to 3 inches possible. Much of this could fall in only 3 to 4 hours, causing isolated to scattered instances of flash flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
