AccuWeather.com Sets Record for Most Single-Day Page Views
Anticipation Over Possibility of Early Spring Snow Event Increases Traffic to the Leading Source for Weather Information on the Internet
(State College, PA, April 10, 2003) - AccuWeather.com announced today that they set a new record for page views in one day with 5.73 million views on April 7, breaking the previous record of 4.87 million page views on Jan. 6, 2003.
The increase has been attributed to an early spring storm tracking across the country that is expected to spread a variety of adverse weather over a large portion of the eastern third of the United States. The storm surprised some residents with an April snowfall. This demonstrates AccuWeather's ability to provide breaking weather information when rapidly changing weather conditions warrant.
"This milestone proves that AccuWeather.com is viewed by the general public as an important source of information when severe weather strikes," Dr. Joel N. Myers, founder and president of AccuWeather, Inc. said. "We provide continual updates when these conditions occur to offer the most effective weather information tool for millions worldwide."
