Dr. Joel N. Myers has been re-appointed to Team Pennsylvania (PA) Foundation – one of longest-standing Board Directors provides leadership and private-sector expertise to non-profit organizations AccuWeather Global Weather Center, June 25, 2014 — Dr. Joel N. Myers, Founder, President and Chairman of AccuWeather, Inc. has been reappointed to the Team Pennsylvania Foundation Board of Directors, providing the organization with leadership and expertise on the private business sector. This reappointment by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett establishes Myers as one of the longest-serving board members for Team PA Foundation, having served on the board for more than 16 years under governors of both political parties.

Since 1998, Dr. Myers has also served on the Board of Directors of the Team Pennsylvania Foundation, a position to which he has been appointed by four Pennsylvania governors. In 1992, he co-founded the American Weather and Climate Industry Association and continues to serve as a board member.
Dr. Myers received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Meteorology from The Pennsylvania State University, and served as a University Board of Trustee member for 33 years. He taught meteorology at Penn State for 21 years. His many philanthropic efforts include a gift of more than $2 million to Penn State for the creation of the Joel N. Myers Weather Center, a state-of-the-art teaching center for tomorrow’s meteorologists. Dr. Myers continues to champion Penn State’s success and fuel continued global business growth at AccuWeather.
