...HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CHST MONDAY... ...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 7 to 9 feet will build to 11 feet and dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...North facing reefs for the surf and north and east facing reefs for the rip currents of the Marianas. * WHEN...Through at least 6 AM ChST Monday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A northeast swell will continue to build over the next several days. Model guidance shows surf possibly reaching up to 12 feet for north facing reefs and possibly east facing reefs (dangerous and life threatening rip currents) before the swell begins to relax. This is anticipated to be a long term event, and will be refreshed, re-evaluated and extended as needed. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&
