1- Play in the Snow Together
It is no surprise that one of the best things to do on a snow day is to play outside. Going out to play in the snow with your kids can never be boring. There are obvious limitations, of course, particularly heavy snows, or especially low temperatures that may make doing so dangerous. But in many cases, schools close out of an abundance of caution and commute difficulties. The snow conditions are not as bad as feared. Snowball fights, sledding, and building snow-folk make for fond memories later on.
2- Take a Nap Together
Few people get as much sleep as they'd like--or as much as they need. A snow day offers a chance to get caught up on some of it!

3- Watch Movies Together
One of the best things to do on a snow day is to stay inside in the warmth. That time can be spent working on a streaming queue, or introducing kids to the stories and movies of the past.
4- Clean Together
Spring is usually the season associated with cleaning, but winter weather can offer uninterrupted time to get ahead on some of the chores that all too often fall to the side.
5- Cook Together
Few things bring people together like food. Eating is a great way to keep you warm and spend some quality time with the family when it's snowing outside. Keep in mind that there is camaraderie in cooking, and the time a snow day offers allows for family recipes to be tried out and passed down.

6- Bake Together
Another commonplace is to fire up the oven and bake. Whether it be bread, cookies, cakes, brownies, or several other sweet things. Putting together tasty treats is always welcomed. The heat used to bake also helps warm the house--perfect for a chilly snow day!
7- Talk Together
Having a snow day means having an unexpected bit of downtime that can be put to good use by sharing stories. Passing along tales of olden days and people now gone away, helps keep the memory alive. This also serves as a bonding time, helping kids have a better sense of where they come from and whom.

8- Play Inside Together
Maybe while the bread is baking, you might break out a deck of cards and deal a hand or two. Perhaps you might pull out a board game and play together, or even draw together. Either is an excellent way to pass the time inside.
9- Write Together
Writing poems or stories about winter and snow helps familiarize kids with this cold season. This snow day activity is a great way to practice writing skills as well. Spend some fun learning time with your kids, it is a great way to bond with them!

10- Read Together
Especially for younger children, time spent reading with parents is a blessing. But even older children benefit from this snow day activity: not only from doing their own reading, but also from seeing their parents read. It reinforces good behavior, and it helps the mind work better, which is a pleasant thing in any season--but especially when it's cold outside!
11- Have a spa day at home
Sometime when it snows, you're stuck indoors. Make use of that me-time at home and pamper yourself. One of the best things to do during a snow day is to have a spa day in the warm indoors. Put a face mask, soak your feet in warm water, and enjoy your relaxation time!
