RP: Monster Supercell Marches Thru TX
I don't mean at all to take anything away from tonight's important stories of the declaration of Tropical Storm Barry or the damaging tornadoes in Iowa/Illinois/Wisconsin, but you've got to check out this awesome supercell marching across Texas this afternoon and evening. Below I go in-depth with AccuWeather.com RadarPlus to look at the storm at 5:30 Central Time.

Meteo Madness Man (PREMIUM | PRO) pointed this one out to me. It had a hook echo early on, and (along with the storm to its northeast) has output over 23,000 lightning strikes in the last two hours alone. The lack of severe weather reports from it is a testament to the low population of areas over which it travelled.
