Photos: London, Ontario Buried by Snow
Blog reader George pointed out something that you couldn't see by perusing the U.S. snowfall reports, and that was that London, Ontario [Google Map] was also buried by up to 3 feet of lake-effect snow this week, thanks to Lake Huron. All local schools, including the University were shut down, and the city bus service was closed for the first time since 1978.

The front page of their newspaper today [PDF] carries a large headline saying "DIGGING OUT" and has an impressive photo and story, saying that it was the worst snowstorm since The Blizzard of 1978... at least unofficially:
