North Carolina Snow Cams
As predicted, some residents of North Carolina are waking up this morning to a covering of snow. I wasn't surprised to see snow (or is that hoar frost?) on the Mount Mitchell, NC webcam (highest point east of the Mississippi) but the white stuff is also showing up on the HighCountry.com Webcams at Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, and more. Shining Rock Wilderness, NC (ironically where my best photo of hoar frost hails from) and Dolly Sods, West Virginia also showed snow -- or possibly hoar frost. I even found a dusting of snow present on a Maryland roadcam and on webcams at Pennsylvania's Seven Springs resort.
SOMETHING WHITE AT MT. MITCHELL & SHINING ROCK THIS MORNING
NWS Snow Spotter reports were few and far between this morning but as of 2 AM, indicated between a dusting and 2 inches, which the webcams seem to support. I'll update that statement later this morning when more reports come out.
