North Carolina Hot, Hot, Hot, 99 Degrees!
Some spots in North Carolina hit 99 degrees this afternoon, challenging similar temperatures in Southern California for nationwide highs. Man, it was blazin' down there! The 90's also toasted Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia on this May 1st, 2007.

Record highs were set across the states. Some places in the mountains that usually stay in the 80's even during the heat of summer busted out into the 90's today including spots like Roanoke, Virginia and Wilkesboro, Morganton, and Franklin, NC.
