No Summer Water Fun For South Florida Kids
The TCPalm reports that, in the towns of Stuart and St. Lucie, Florida, kids are going without water-related fun this summer unless their school or camp applies for a "variance" against the severe weather restrictions there due to this year's drought. Variances are usually granted for kid-related activities, the local water district says, but they are still retricted to keeping slip-n-slides and hoses on the grass and may not be allowed to water the grass the next day.
According to the government's drought monitor, recent rains in Florida have helped but much the state is still in a Moderate to Severe drought.
