Malibu Fire Jumps Highway, Burns Homes
SignOnSanDiego.com says that a forest fire in Malibu, California jumped the Pacific Coast Highway this morning, burning cars, homes, a church and threatening a mall, university and veterinary clinic (ABC7). The jump was spurred by incredibly high Santa Ana winds. Fox News is showing live footage on-air, and you can stream it live on ABC7.com. Area wind gusts over 75 mph include:
WILEY RIDGE: 82 mph
WARM SPRINGS: 80 mph
MONTECITO: 79 mph
FREMONT CANYON: 79 mph
